Personal Testimony (written 2013)
"As an adolescent I struggled with my weight and was the center of constant bullying. In my family, love was communicated through food. By the time I was 12, I was classified as obese, diagnosed with high cholesterol, and was on the path to becoming diabetic as a young adult.
In middle school I became more active in sports and in the martial arts. I developed a love for the discipline of training that shaped me into the person I am today. After high school, I worked as a black belt instructor in Ju-Jitsu while going to college and studying Business Administration (I later witched to Exercise Science and Kinesiology). I loved empowering others through the sharing of the art.

On June 17, 2010, I suffered an injury that threatened to end my martial arts career. I suffered a triple intervertebral lumbar disc herniation (L3-L5/S), along with a torn plantar fascia. The doctors I visited were quick to strip me of any hope I had of returning to training, and the only option I was given was major surgery. Stricken by grief and physical pain, I turned to an old emotional support system; Food. Standing at 5"7 and weighing in at a hefty 230 pounds, I gained over 70 pounds in less than a year. I was unable to walk short distances without crippling pain, was borderline diabetic and saw no escape from this nightmare, but God had a plan for me.
I found myself in a position where I was able to learn about anatomy, and restoring functional movement. I studied to become a Certified Personal Trainer, and Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Utilizing N.A.S.M's Corrective Exercise Continuum, and Optimum Performance Training Model I was able to rehabilitate and stabilize my body in a way that doctors said I'd never be able to achieve, WITHOUT surgery. Through faith, determination, and the emotional support of my wife; I Lost 60 Pounds in 11 months and gained 15 pounds of Lean Muscle Mass. My mission is to empower ANYONE in ANY situation where they think they CAN'T and show them that with the proper training and guidance You CAN achieve goals that you thought were impossible!"

2023 Update
What a ride the last 10 years has been. I've been so blessed to work with many amazing people from different walks of life. I've lost count of how many back injuries I've helped rehabilitate, along with other musculoskeletal pains; Knee rehab (Knee replacements, ACL/ meniscus injury), wrist injuries, shoulder impingements, cervical injuries. It has been surprising to see how many people's stories reflected my own, feeling hopeless with their diagnosis. I've learned so much, and my reputation has brought many long-term friends and clients from the medical profession (Doctors need help too). I've also had the privilege of helping many student athletes, that have been able to continue their path into Collegiate Baseball, Cross Country, and Soccer. Since my last update I've gained about 30 pounds in lean muscle mass. My mission remains the same: To help others out of pain and into strength, to help them adapt and overcome the circumstances we are dealt.
To help you Rise Beyond Your Limits.
